Worm Bin Options
- Lid Options
If you don't like working inside the bin, you can just use the Feed Pipe, which works for smaller stuff.
Add a Split Lid or a Hinged Lid to your order to make it easier to feed your bin the "old-fashioned" way by lifting the
top layer of bedding, dropping the food in and replacing the bedding on top of the food.
The split lid is very low cost because I just make the cut for you (making this cut straight is harder than you might think,
but I built a jig to give you a nice clean look). You'll need
to set something on top of the lid to cover the gap created by cutting the lid, because the two edges will be at different
heights. A small stack of newspaper works well.
For a few bucks more, you can have me install a hinge for you. It is a very nice feature if you are more of a "worm hobbyist"
than someone who just wants it to work without a minimal fuss.
- Harvesting Basket
This simple plastic box allows you to harvest your vermicompost very easily. One is included with all WormGin worm
bin orders. A second one lets you harvest more regularly. For complete details,
please read the section on Harvesting, including the
forum threads you'll find links to there.
- Drain System
Please read the section on Drainage and the description in the
STORE. You probably
don't actually want or need to order this option. It you want it, you can have it - I
believe in giving people what they want. It was originally going to be standard equipment so it has been well tested
and is ready for sale.
